GLT Youth Corp

The Mission of the GLT Youth Corp is to provide local teenagers with a paid job in a professional and supportive setting, caring for Greenwich Land Trust nature preserves and improving habitat. The experience also offers and opportunity to explore career opportunities and issues in environmental-related fields. Each summer, the GLT Youth Corp maintains the Land Trust vegetable garden, providing weekly fresh produce to the Neighbor to Neighbor food bank.

 Program Details:

  • 2 four-week sessions June through August
  • 2 full time supervisors and daily transportation provided
  • 14 teens enrolled and paid hourly salaries
  • Partnership with Greenwich Human Services which provides teen employee recruitment, a dedicated support supervisor and transportation for teens
  • Program funding provided by The Resource Foundation and other private donors
  • EcoPath college intern works with Youth Corps on projects throughout the summer
