This workshop is part of GLT’s Native Plant Series and will teach participants the process of collecting seeds from native wildflowers for future propagation.
We’ll cover when the best time is to collect seeds, as well as how to process and store them for future use. The workshop will start with a walk through GLT’s native meadow to collect seeds from species that are ripe. We’ll discuss how to clean the seeds and store them. Paper bags will be provided for collection, as well as tools for cleaning, and paper envelopes for seeds storage. This workshop will be followed by a second program in November to discuss seed sowing and overwintering. Space is limited to 15, pre-registration is required. *Part of Native Plant Series
